Our Story

Koshe Kosha was born in the heart of North Kolkata, in the vibrant neighbourhood of Hatibagan. What began as an act of compassion soon became a culinary movement.
When an iconic Bengali eatery in North Kolkata suddenly shut down, its talented cooks found themselves stranded overnight. It was then that a passionate food connoisseur stepped forward. Driven by his deep love for Bengali cuisine and concern for the craftsmen behind it, he brought these master cooks together under one roof.
That moment gave birth to Koshe Kosha.
What followed was not just the opening of a restaurant, but the revival of a legacy. Recipes perfected over generations were preserved. Techniques rooted in tradition were honoured. And from those humble beginnings emerged the dish that would define us, our magnificent Kosha Mangsho, slow-cooked, deeply spiced, and rich with decadent Bengali flavours.
Over time, Koshe Kosha grew beyond Hatibagan, carrying with it the soul of Bengal. Our mission has always been simple: to celebrate true Bengali cuisine and take it beyond Bengal, introducing its depth, warmth, and heritage to food lovers everywhere.
From redeeming culinary artisans to building a brand rooted in authenticity, our journey has always been about passion — for food, for people, and for tradition.
Today, every plate we serve carries that original spirit.
Koshe Kosha isn’t just a restaurant.
It is a story of resilience, revival, and the timeless magic of Bengali flavours.
